Archaeological discoveries across eastern and central Georgia reveal grape seeds genetically identical to modern Rkatsiteli, dating back 6,000\u20138,000 years, proving its ancient winemaking heritage. These findings highlight Georgia\u2019s historic role as the cradle of viticulture and its continuous wine tradition since the Neolithic era.\n\nThe name \u201cRkatsiteli\u201d comes from two Georgian words: \u201crka\u201d (horn), referring to the cluster\u2019s shape, and \u201ctsiteli\u201d (red), describing the grape\u2019s slightly reddish-pink skin.
